Updata Advisors Launches Contest: How Can Twitter Generate Revenue?

October 15, 2009 (New York & Reston, VA) – Updata Advisors has announced it is hosting a contest to find the best idea on how Twitter can bring in revenue. Twitter does not currently make any money and its founders are working solely on building value, leading it to a recent valuation of $1 billion.

There are plenty of Tweeters, business-minded people, students, etc. that are busting with ideas about how Twitter could be bringing in revenue. Updata Advisors is challenging these people to come up with the best, most interesting and innovative ideas on how Twitter could become profitable.

Submissions can be made on Twitter by replying to Updata Advisors (@updataadvisors) or by emailing jviskovich@updata.com (if Twitter’s 140 character limit does not allow enough room to explain the idea). Please submit your idea on how Twitter could build a revenue base, including any details you think might be relevant.

Updata Advisors will judge the submitted ideas and pick a winner based on innovation and the ability to actually institute the plan. Each week Updata will announce the most promising submissions on its Twitter page (Twitter.com/UpdataAdvisors) and on its blog (blog.updataadviors.com). The “Best of the Best” will be announced in December and winners will receive an AMEX gift card. There is no limit to the number of submissions per person. All submissions are due by December 15.
