Rick joined Aluria in early 2004. Under his leadership, the company was rapidly transformed from a consumer software vendor to a leader in enterprise anti-spyware recognized by such publications as the New York Times and CNET. Rick signed the largest ISP deals in the industry’s history (AOL, and then Earthlink), as well as the largest OEM (with a large security vendor) and the largest corporate deal with a top three money-center bank. Rick earned an MBA from the University of Florida.

Perimeter Internetworking is the leading provider of multi-threat, managed “Security in the Cloud” services to financial institutions, telecommunications/Internet service providers, healthcare providers, and other firms with high data security and regulatory requirements. Brad Miller joined the company in May 2000 as CEO. Under his leadership, company revenues have grown more than 3,000 percent, ranking Perimeter in the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 and the Connecticut Technology Fast 50. Brad’s business success was detailed in “The Business of Software,” one of the top business books of 2004 by the New York Times. Prior to joining Perimeter, Brad held senior leadership roles at PRG, the leading supplier of entertainment technology products and services and Schroders PLC. Mr. Miller received an MBA from Columbia University Business School and a BA in economics from Franklin and Marshall College.
Don More, Partner, Updata Capital
Don provides M&A advisory services to infrastructure software companies. His focus areas include IT security, systems management and internet tools. Since joining Updata in 1998, he has helped consummate more than two dozen transactions with such buyers as Computer Associates, NetIQ, Quest and Symantec. Don actively writes and speaks about IT areas of interest, and has been published or quoted in the Boston Globe, Daily Deal, GSN Magazine and other industry publications. Prior to joining Updata, Don served as an investment banker at Merrill Lynch & Co. and was an M&A attorney at Davis, Polk & Wardwell and at Shearman & Sterling. Don received a JD with distinction from Columbia Law and a BA from Yale University.
Joel Strauch, Senior Vice President, Updata Capital
Joel joined Updata in 2005 and brings significant experience both in investment banking and in advising high growth technology companies. His focus is the enterprise infrastructure software sector. Prior to joining Updata, Joel was a Senior Vice President at Katalyst, a private investment and advisory firm focused on technology and life sciences companies. His prior experience also includes senior investment banking roles at technology-focused investment banking firms including First Albany Corporation, H.C. Wainwright & Co., and Alex. Brown & Sons. Joel also served as Manager, Financial Analysis, Mergers & Acquisitions for Edison Mission Energy, a subsidiary of Southern California Edison and a leading developer of independent power generation facilities. Joel received a BBA in finance from Loyola College in Maryland.
